Silicone Greases
Silicone greases provide good thermal and chemical stability & have a wide operating temperature (-73°C to 210°C).
They are especially suitable for metal-plastic and plastic-plastic compatibility. They are also highly compatible with polymers and elastomers.
IKV have a full range of silicone greases with different thickeners.
IKV-TRIBOSIL PLK 152 is an NLGI Grade 2 grease formulated with lithium complex soap and phenyl methyl silicone oil. It has excellent thermal stability and excellent resistance to water, even warm, and steam. It has a drop point of >250°C and working temperature of -40 to 220°C.
IKV-TRIBOSIL PLK 152 is suitable for lubrication of seals, as well as mechanisms for transforming plastic or rubber parts. Also used for lubrication of fans on production sites in tile production, chemical & textile industries.
IKV-TRIBOSIL PLK 152 is generally compatible with all plastics, metals, elastomers and seals except those containing silicones. It is advisable to perform some preliminary tests. It can be applied by brush on perfectly clean surfaces.
IKV-TRIBOSIL PLS 82 is an NLGI Grade 2 grease formulated with lithium soap and phenyl methyl silicone oil. It has a drop point of >250°C and working temperature of -73 to 180°C.
IKV-TRIBOSIL PLK 152 BM is an NLGI Grade 1/ 2 grease formulated with complex lithium soap and phenyl methyl silicone oil. It has a drop point of >250°C and working temperature of -50 to 250°C.
IKV-TRIBOSIL M-1/TF PLUS is an NLGI Grade 1 grease formulated with phenyl methyl silicone oil & PTFE thickener. It has a drop point of >300°C and working temperature of -50 to 250°C.The type of lubricant used on taps, water valves and fittings needs to be carefully selected and approved. All water valves, single lever mixers, double taps for hot and cold water, ‘O’ rings and ceramic cartridges must use lubricants that are foodsafe, odourless and tasteless.
The lubricants below are environmentally friendly and comply with NSF-H1 approvals.
IKV-TRIBOSTAR SSI 1208 TF is an NLGI grade 000 silicone inorganic grease for tap water lubrication with PTFE thickener and working temperature of -50 to 180°C.
IKV-TRIBOSTAR SSI 1209 TF is an NLGI grade 00 silicone inorganic grease for tap water lubrication with PTFE & silica thickener and working temperature of -50 to 180°C.
IKV-TRIBOSTAR SSI 1201 TF is an an NLGI grade 1 silicone inorganic grease for tap water lubrication with silica thickener and working temperature of -40 to 200°C.
IKV-TRIBOSTAR SSI 1203 TF is an an NLGI grade 3 silicone inorganic grease for tap water lubrication with PTFE & silica thickener and working temperature of -35 to 200°C.
