IKV Lubricants supply greases, oils & dry film coatings for rotary screw and reciprocating compressors. A compressor is a type of machine that elevates the pressure of a compressible process fluid, typically air.

Dynamic compressors are based on the principle of imparting velocity to a gas stream and then converting this velocity energy into pressure energy.

In contrast, positive displacement compressors confine a certain inlet volume of gas in a given space and subsequently elevate this trapped amount of gas to some higher pressure level. The overwhelming majority of compressors in either the dynamic (axial/centrifugal) or positive displacement (reciprocating and screw-type) categories incorporate moving components.

Nearly all compressors require a form of lubricant to either cool, seal, or lubricate internal components. Only static jet compressors (ejectors) and late 20th / early 21st-century oil-free machines with rotors suspended in magnetic or air bearings are exempt from the need for some type of lubrication.

There are two different lubrication issues on a compressor – the frame and the compression cylinders.

– The frame requires a constant pressurized supply of oil for the rotating drive train.

– The cylinders require injections of small amounts of oil on a regular basis to lubricate the reciprocating piston rings.

The lubricant in each of these applications may be different. IKV offer specialist products for rotary screw and reciprocating compressors ranging from small single units to very large capacity, multi-stage configurations.

IKV TRIBOLINE CMP  (32, 46, 68, 100 & 150)

The TRIBOLINE CMP 32 & 46 are produced with highly refined mineral oils for the lubrication of rotors, bearings and gears in rotary compressors. The TRIBOLINE CMP 100 & 150 are ideal for alternative or piston compressors.

Based on polyalphaolefin (PAO) fluids, these products are suitable for use in oil flooded rotary screw compressors operating under extreme climatic conditions, harsh environments and severe operating conditions.

IKV TRIBOLINE CMP 100 ES (Available in 32, 68, 100 & 150)

This a range of synthetic oils for the lubrication of alternative and piston compressors. The TRIBOLINE CMP 68 ES is an excellent product for rotary screw and vane compressors.
